We checked into the ‘Amazing Bagan Hotel‘ (which is a fantastic hotel/resort by the way) and decided that we would walk into town to have a look around and get some food before the sunset.
Our hotel was probably a couple of miles away from the main area where all the shops and restaurants were. We just wandered around trying to get a feel for the place and ended up going to the Shwezigon Pagoda.
Bagan is famous for its Pagodas. It’s estimated that there are about 4,000 Pagodas, Temples, and Monasteries in Bagan alone.
It’s a beautiful place, very chilled out, cheap, and generally safe for tourists.
