What we thought
We stayed at the Santa Monica Hotel for the duration of our stay in LA.
Serena had mentioned we were on our honeymoon and they very kindly decorated the room for us which was a nice touch.
The staff were friendly and helpful and check-in was a very straightforward process.
The room was spotlessly clean and had everything you could possibly need.
The beds were very comfortable.
A continental breakfast including tea & coffee making facilities were available in the reception area and the room came complete with its own coffee maker which was great especially if you are tea & coffee monsters like us.
The shower was powerful with nice and hot water and toiletries were provided.
The room also came equipped with a fridge, microwave, iron and ironing board.
Free WiFi was available and we also had a tv in the room with all the channels you would expect in the US.
The Motel is located 7 blocks from the beach and Santa Monica Pier. Main Street is also a short walk away but there are several shops and places to eat right on your doorstep.
We had a fantastic Mexican meal at ‘Lula Coccina Mexicana‘ on Main Street – I can highly recommend this restaurant if you like Mexican food!
All in all, we had a very short but pleasant stay.
I Can’t believe it rained in LA – this isn’t allowed!
Would we stay here again?
Yes, definitely. We’ve still got a lot of unfinished business in Santa Monica. I can highly recommend staying at the Santa Monica Motel.
