The ‘Leela Hotel’ is part of a beautiful clifftop beach resort in Kovalam which is a small coastal town in the southern Indian state of Kerala, south of Thiruvananthapuram.
We stayed here on our year-long round the world trip. My sister came out to India for a week or so and we had a night here together.

The night after my sister left we had an immense storm and the hotel got flooded. We had water coming into our room but we were given towels to stop the deluge. It didn’t detract from the wonderful time we had here. To be honest I think it added to the excitement. You never know what you are going to get in India.
What we saw and did
We didn’t do a great deal in Kovalam. We just hung out with my sister. Went to the private beach a bit and generally made the most of our luxurious surroundings because the next few places we were staying were no way near as luxurious.
