Palolem Beach in Goa is one of those rare places where time seems to slow down completely. I’ve never felt so relaxed in my life. The vibe here is effortlessly chilled, and we fully embraced the Goan lifestyle, lounging on the golden sand, sipping a cool beer, and simply enjoying the moment.
We did hire a scooter and explored a little, weaving along the scenic coastal roads and discovering hidden coves, but aside from that, our days were wonderfully unstructured. Palolem has a way of encouraging you to forget schedules and deadlines, inviting you instead to soak up the sun, listen to the waves, and watch the incredible sunsets that paint the sky in shades of orange and pink.
It’s a place for slowing down, enjoying the simple pleasures, and really feeling the relaxed, welcoming energy that makes Goa such a unique destination. Whether you’re wandering along the shore, enjoying the local cafés, or just sitting back and watching the world go by, Palolem Beach is perfect for recharging and embracing the art of doing nothing.

Bugger all, to be honest. In fact, I could quite happily do nothing ever again.
I think it’s fair to say I was pretty content in Goa. We spent a lot longer here than we thought because it was just so laid back and frankly we couldn’t be bothered to move on for a while.

Not much else is required. Beer on my birthday with Serena and a sunset by the sea. To me, this is the life. Not having to be anywhere in particular and not answering to anyone. Not everyone gets to experience freedom like this so I feel very lucky to have done so for a whole year.

I can understand why people drop out of normal life and come here. It’s actually very tempting.
