We took off from Puerto Natales Airport in Argentina and were treated to one of the most unforgettable flights of our lives, a scenic flyover of the incredible Perito Moreno Glacier and the dramatic El Chaltén mountain range.
It was one of those rare, crystal-clear days that the pilot told us doesn’t happen very often in Patagonia, where clouds and strong winds are usually the norm. From the air, the scale and beauty of the landscape were simply mind-blowing, vast stretches of glacial ice gleaming in the sunlight, deep blue crevasses snaking through the surface, and jagged mountain peaks piercing the sky.
Seeing the Perito Moreno Glacier from above gives you a whole new appreciation for its sheer size and power, while the views over El Chaltén and Mount Fitz Roy were equally spectacular. It was an incredible experience, one of those rare travel moments where everything aligns perfectly, the weather, the light, and the sense of wonder.
