The Leela Hotel is part of a stunning clifftop beach resort in Kovalam, a charming coastal town in the southern Indian state of Kerala, just south of Thiruvananthapuram. Perched above the Arabian Sea, the resort offers sweeping ocean views, luxurious accommodations, and easy access to the golden sands and palm-fringed beaches that make Kovalam so special.
We stayed at the Leela during our year-long round-the-world trip, and it was particularly memorable as my sister joined us in India for a week. We spent a night here together, enjoying the tranquil surroundings, the warm sea breeze, and the sense of calm that comes from being perched high above the coast. The combination of luxury, natural beauty, and the joy of sharing the experience with family made it a truly unforgettable stop on our journey.

2 nights (13/04/11 – 15/04/11)
The night after my sister left we had an immense storm and the hotel got flooded. We had water coming into our room but we were given towels to stop the deluge. It didn’t detract from the wonderful time we had here. To be honest I think it added to the excitement. You never know what you are going to get in India.
What we saw and did
We didn’t do a great deal in Kovalam. We just hung out with my sister. Went to the private beach a bit and generally made the most of our luxurious surroundings because the next few places we were staying were no way near as luxurious.

Honey; I shrunk the Jonny.

View from our room.

Stuffing one’s cakehole as usual.

Don’t laugh, that’s my best catalogue pose.

Pissing around in the pool. Not pissing in the pool.

Sunset in the infinity pool.
What we ate
Unsurprisingly we ate the gorgeous food in the restaurant as much as we could.
